What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral in rock and soil. It has been widely used in many building products because of its malleable strength and chemical and thermal resistance. It has been learned that Asbestos is extremely hazardous when it gets airborne and inhaled. Read more about asbestos regulation at the following sites: WA State L&I (WISHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the local regional air pollution authorities in Washington. The building owner, the general contractor, and any subcontractors related to the disturbance are at risk of citations and fines.

How do I find out if my home or building contains asbestos?
You will need to contact a licensed AHERA inspector to do a survey of your space. We have a list of licensed inspectors across the Pacific NW we can recommend.
