SKAGIT VALLEY FARMS

SKAGIT VALLEY FARMS EXPANSION

The project facilitated the expansion of a regional food processing company while safeguarding the operational portion of the plant. Key objectives included site protection and maintaining a clean worksite. The project encompassed removing 240 LF of 34’ tall tilt-up panels, 5,950 SF of roof structure, and a concrete slab. Extensive shoring and coordinated demolition were necessary for safe and efficient panel removal. A PC360 Excavator with a LaBounty Shear was used for precise demolition of the thick tilt-up panels and slabs. Additional work involved saw cutting, core drilling, and trench removal for new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing routing.

Location: Burlington, Washington

General Contractor: TRICO Companies

Recycling Summary: 100% of waste diverted from landfill

Unique Challenges: The need for shoring, the demolition of 34’ tall panels, and the careful sequencing of operations to allow the General Contractor to preload the expansion site for an expedited schedule. Additionally, the project involved working around an active facility, requiring stringent safety measures and precise coordination to ensure the safety of all personnel and the success of the expansion.
